Friends, today we want to talk about the difference between the types of Blauberg Motoren fans.

Axial Fans:

Axial fans are designed to move air parallel to the axis around which the fan blades rotate. They excel at moving large volumes of air efficiently at low pressures. The design of their blades is similar to airplane propellers, directing airflow in a straight line along the fan's axis. Axial fans generally produce lower noise levels, especially at low speeds. They are commonly used in heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, refrigeration, such as cooling towers, chillers, shock freezers etc., and various industrial processes that require high airflow rates.

Centrifugal Fans:

Centrifugal fans, also known as radial fans, move air perpendicular to the fan's axis. They are designed to generate high pressure and are used where airflow resistance is higher or where air needs to be forced through ductwork or restrictive media. There are two main types of centrifugal fans:

Forward Curved: This type of impeller has a relatively large number of shallow blades facing the direction of rotation. It produces flow in a tangential direction, forward curved impeller transfers kinetic energy to the air, which requires the use of a spiral casing to convert this kinetic energy into static pressure.. It is suitable for applications requiring large air volumes at low running speeds, such as domestic boilers, heaters, and fan coil assemblies.

Backward Curved: Backward curved impellers have fewer, longer blades curving away from the direction of rotation. They generate flow in a radial direction by developing static pressure across the blade's length. Positive pressure is created on the front side of the blade, causing the air to be pushed outwards, while negative pressure is generated on the reverse side of the blade. This negative pressure draws air into the area, allowing the subsequent blade's front side to pick up the air and push it outwards. As a result, this design can be used with or without a scroll expansion housing. Backward curved fans offer higher efficiency and are well-suited for high-pressure applications like condensing boilers, ventilation systems, and heat recovery units.
